Reproduction in Plants

Like all the living organism, plants also reproduce, or in other words, multiply. This is because they have life. Every living thing or biotic factors can reproduce. This is one of the characteristics that define a living thing.

*Pollination: This is the transmission of pollen from the anther to the stigma. This can be caused by insects and the wind. They're both called, "insect pollination and wind pollination." There are 2 types of pollination. One is the self pollination which means when the pollen grain from the anther falls into another stigma of the same plant or when the pollen grain from the anther falls into the stigma of itself and cross pollination when the pollen grain from the anther falls into the stigma of a different plant.350,515 Pollination Images, Stock Photos & Vectors | Shutterstock

*Fertilisation: Fertilisation is the process of when self pollination or cross pollination happens and then the pollen grain forms a pollen tube. It grows further until it passes the style and then grows into the ovule. The seed in the end of the tube will dissolve and then fuses with the seed in the ovule which forms a zygote.

*seed  dispersal: When fertilisation happens, the seed will eventually isolate due to the wind that passes and blow the seed or can we caused by human activity. When we eat apples or fruits with seeds, we can see that there are seeds. After we eat apples, we will throw the seeds away and it will land on the ground. Another human activity is when we blow dandelions seeds and it will fly and eventually fall on the ground. It can also be caused by gravity and animals, insects and water as well.
